April 2026 Newsletter
Lilac & Fig Integrative Healing
We Belong to the Earth
As we step into April and the gentle unfolding of Earth Month, I find myself feeling especially grateful for this community. The connections we share here in Port Townsend—the quiet conversations, the openness to healing, the willingness to sit with both joy and grief—continue to shape Lilac & Fig into something far deeper than a studio. It has become a shared space of presence, trust, and transformation, and I am truly honored to walk alongside you.
The studio is growing in beautiful, intentional ways, and I’m so excited to share what’s unfolding. Inside this month’s newsletter, you’ll find reflections on end-of-life care and green burial practices, upcoming community gatherings like Dream Circle and Past Life Regression, new botanical offerings from Lilac & Fig Botanicals, and opportunities to step into Shamanic Reiki training.
I invite you to settle in, take a breath, and explore what calls to you. Whether you’re here to learn, to heal, or simply to feel connected, you are always welcome.
Green Burial & Natural Death Care
Green burial is a return to simplicity.
A return to the understanding that our bodies are not separate from the Earth—but part of it.
Instead of preservation and containment, green burial allows for:
• Natural decomposition
• Biodegradable materials (shrouds, simple caskets)
• No embalming chemicals
• A lighter ecological footprint
It is, in many ways, an act of reciprocity. To give back what we have borrowed. For many, choosing green burial is not only an environmental decision—it is a spiritual one. A final gesture of alignment with the cycles that have always held us.
Washington Green Burial & End-of-Life Resources
As more of us feel called to return to the earth in a conscious and gentle way, I wanted to share a few local resources here in Washington that support natural burial, green death care, and alternative after-death options.
Natural Organic Reduction (Human Composting)
Return Home – Located in Lynwood, WA, Return Home offers human composting, transforming the body into nutrient-rich soil to give back to the earth in a regenerative and meaningful way.
Green Burial Cemeteries
Foxfield Preserve – A dedicated green burial cemetery on Whidbey Island focused on land conservation and natural burial practices.
White Eagle Memorial Preserve – Located near Goldendale, this preserve offers eco-friendly burial options in a serene, natural setting.
Local Guidance & Support
If you’re feeling called to explore these options more deeply, I’m here to walk beside you. Whether you're planning ahead or navigating a current transition, these conversations are welcome here held with care, curiosity, and compassion.
Let’s Talk About Death: (I promise it won’t kill you)
Death is something we all share, and yet it’s often one of the hardest things to talk about. Many of us were raised to avoid the subject entirely, which can leave us feeling unprepared, unsure, or even a little afraid when the time comes to face it. But talking about death openly and gently can help take some of the fear out of it. It can make space for clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of peace.
These conversations do not have to feel dark or heavy. In many ways, talking about death can help us live more fully. It gives us the chance to name what matters most, share our wishes, and support one another with greater honesty and care. The more we normalize these conversations, the softer the stigma around them becomes.
As an End-of-Life Doula, I help create space for these conversations with compassion and steadiness. Whether you are planning ahead, walking alongside a loved one, or simply wanting to explore the topic in a more grounded way, I am here to support you.
Sometimes the easiest way to begin is with a simple question:
“What matters most to you at the end of life?”
“Have you thought about what kind of care you would want?”
“Are there things you would want your loved ones to know?”
Even small conversations can open the door to understanding, comfort, and connection. Talking about death won’t take away its tenderness, but it can help us meet it with a little more grace.
Lilac & Fig Botanicals
New April Companion: Balm of Gilea
Working alongside the themes of Earth Month, I’ve been leaning into the medicine of Balm of Gilead—cottonwood buds I ethically harvested here in the Pacific Northwest and slowly infused over the past year.
This plant carries the essence of early spring—protective, fragrant, and deeply restorative.
Traditionally used for:
• Soothing skin and supporting repair
• Easing inflammation and muscle discomfort
• Offering gentle nervous system support
I have recently crafted a new small-batch offering—with intention, seasonal plant allies, and a deep respect for the land from which they came. Each product is created with the understanding that what we take from the Earth is a relationship—one rooted in reciprocity, gratitude, and care.
Available in limited seasonal quantities. $9 for a 2-ounce jar. If you would like a jar of this beautiful healing balm for yourself or someone you know, reach out to me directly at thelilacfig@gmail.com for local delivery/pick-up options.

Shamanic Reiki Training Series
This April, I’m opening space for a new Shamanic Reiki Training Series here —a journey for those feeling called to deepen their connection to energy, intuition, and healing.
Whether you are brand new to Reiki or feeling ready to expand your current practice, this series is designed to meet you where you are. We’ll explore the foundations of Reiki alongside shamanic elements—working with energy, intention, and your own inner knowing in a way that feels grounded, accessible, and deeply personal.

• Level II — Saturday, April 25
• Level III (Master Level) — Saturday, May 2
Energy Exchange:

Each level offers its own doorway:
Level I focuses on self-healing and building a relationship with energy.
Level II expands into working with others, distance healing, and intuitive development.
Level III is for those called into deeper practice, integration, and potential teaching.
Class sizes are intentionally small to keep the experience intimate and supportive. If you’ve been feeling the nudge, this may be your invitation.

Sacred Saturdays: Open Studio Healing Hours
There’s something about Saturdays that invites us to slow down… to soften… to return to ourselves.
Beginning this April, I’ll be opening the studio doors for Sacred Saturdays — walk-in 20-minute Reiki and grounding sessions for $20 cash or Venmo. These are gentle, drop-in style offerings for anyone who feels called to pause, reset, and receive.
Whether you’re new to Reiki or simply in need of a moment of stillness, you’re welcome to come as you are. No planning, no pressure—just a quiet space held with care.
You might stop in for a quick reset… or linger a little longer.
If you’ve been curious about energy work or waiting for the “right time,” this is a beautiful place to begin.
Each week’s walk-in hours will be posted the day before—feel free to follow along on Instagram @lilacandfighealing to stay in the loop or contact me directly by email @ thelilacfig@gmail.com
